Aston Clinton beaten for just second time this season

Aston Clinton fell to just their second league defeat of the season at Berkhamsted Raiders on Saturday, despite coming back from a half time deficit to level matters a second half red card swung the game in the favour of the hosts who duly went on to score twice more, and with it leap frog Clinton into third place in the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division Two table.

Trailing three-one at half time Neil Robert’s side came out after the interval to level the game three all, but once Billy Harrison was sent off Berkhamsted went on to take all three points, Abraham Eze bagging for of their goals with Jay Caines rounding off the scoring. The scorers for Clinton were Joe Kittle, Jack Bowers & Anthony Kew.

Aston this week have a rare midweek fixture as they travel to Chinnor in the High Wycombe senior cup, the trophy that they have won for the past two seasons, before hosting a level higher Bedford FC next Saturday in the SSMFL Challenge Trophy
