Banbury United go second in league with win over St Ives Town

Banbury United sit second in the Southern Football League Premier Division Central table, after a single goal victory over St Ives Town on Saturday at the Spencer Stadium.

Jannai Gordon opened the scoring

The winning goal came four minutes from the end of the first half, great work from John Mills saw him play the ball across the six-yard box where it hit a defender and Jannai Gordon was on hand to back heel home from a yard out.

The Puritans are in cup action on Tuesday at Beaconsfield before travelling to Leiston next weekend in Southern League action.
