Taylor Collins

Full Name: Taylor Collins

Age: 24

Nationality: English

Marital status: Single

Preferred shirt number: Any from 2 – 11

Most effective position on the pitch: I prefer playing striker but play mostly out wide

Daytime job: Insurance broker

Former clubs: Too many to list

We asked Taylor:

How was your summer, do you miss football when it finishes or is it nice to just get away from it and relax?

Summer was nice and relaxed; it is always good to have a break after the football season. You do miss football but then you begin to dread the thought of pre-season

Re-signed on for Aston this summer, what influenced your choice and were there any other clubs that wanted you?

I don’t tend to talk about other clubs and interests, but it was an easy decision to stay at Aston. We managed to keep most of the squad from last year, so it was always going to be easy to re-sign, and when you have a gaffer like Wingers (Neil Roberts) it’s hard to leave

How do you feel your early season games have gone for you personally so far?

A bit mixed to be honest, first two games I scored in both games and since then i feel like i haven’t contributed much to the team going forward

What are the expectations and/or targets for the season for you yourself, and the squad as a whole?

I would like to get over the twenty-goal mark personally this year. As a squad we are taking it game by game and not looking too far in front of us, but we would look to better last year’s league position and look to do better in the cup finals

Who has been your biggest influence in football?

I would say my eldest brother Liam is, he was my coach when I was younger, so he did have a big influence on my football

How much belief is there in the squad that you can have a successful season, and which players will be key for you to achieve this?

We have a great team spirit this year and it is a good bunch of lads to be involved with. I don’t think we can pin point it down to certain players as I believe the whole squad will have a part to play this year

Home to Bovingdon this week, do you know anything about them this season & what are you expecting from them?

We played them a couple of weeks ago and we drew two each and we simply weren’t at the races that day. They are a young team and they have a point to prove under their new manager so it should be a close game again

Who is the biggest moaner in the dressing room?

That probably has to be Nick Gurney or Wingers

What is your typical pre-match routine before you get to the ground?

Ummm I don’t really have one to be honest, we listen to music as a team and just chill out

Luke Russell

In your current squad, who is the most under rated player in your opinion?

I would have to say Luke Russell, a very solid defender who goes under the radar about his business. Easily a seven out of ten every week, when his hamstrings let him play!

Who has the worst dress sense at the club?

Would probably have to be Teddy (Paul)

When you leave the football pitch on a Saturday, what is the first result you look for elsewhere, and why?

I tend to look for Winslow United as Mitch is playing there, and I also have a look to see what the ducks are doing

Who is the last person you would let choose the music in the dressing room (or car) on matchday, and why?

Again, probably Teddy, he asked to play music in my car and the spice girls came on. He quickly changed it, so think it must have been on his home alone playlist!

What’s the one game this season you most want to win and why?

Probably Old Bradwell, we always have a close game with them

Finally, after you’ve scored a hattrick on Saturday, what can supporters buy you in the bar afterwards?

I would happily take a few lychees in the Roth’s

Sports Shots would like to thank Taylor for his time this week
