SSMFL,D1: Winslow boss looking to build momentum as Ampthill visit the gate

Winslow United boss George Tomlin is looking for his side to build momentum as Ampthill Town visit Elmfields gate on Saturday afternoon.

George Tomlin

United hit seven as they won at Amersham Town last weekend, a victory that Tomlin wants his side to use as a platform going forwards.

We have been very inconsistent with the results lately, winning one week and losing the next, but it’s a tough league. However on our day I don’t think there is a better side in the division. They’re all a good group of lads!

It is still early days in Tomlin’s reign at Elmfields gate, but the boss believes positive signs are there.

We’ve come together a lot more as a team, we’ve started to see a  change in attitude and performance since the Wodson Park game, we were unfortunate not to get 3 points in the defeat to Bedford, and we completely outclassed Amersham.

Tomlin has a clear goal.

It’s time to put 2 or 3 victories together, get the momentum back from the beginning of the season and really push on. Our aim is  to get promotion and I’m confident we can achieve it.

Ampthill are the visitors this weekend.

We have no new injury concerns which is good, and we are hoping to have a full squad available for this tough fixture.

Like every game I’m looking forward to it. We played excellent against Amersham, from Sam all the way up to DP, they were superb, it’s now time to kick on. We need to take each game at a time, I’m confident with the squad we’ve got, we will get the win.
