SSMFL,D2: Buckingham United secure first-ever South Mids victory

New Bradwell St Peter 0-1 Buckingham United

United secured their first three points in the league at the third attempt thanks to an Anthony Mawema first half strike.

Mawema scored a superb 30 yard half volley into the top corner which was the standout moment of an evenly balanced first half. During the second half Lewis Parkin had a goal disallowed for a foul in the build up before Mawema went close again.

The last thirty minutes New Bradwell continuously put the pressure on the United back line, led by debutant and captain Jason Riddell. A solid and real team performance ensured the three points remained United’s while also inflicting New Bradwell’s first league defeat of the season.
