Buckingham’s Town CC fourth eleven in their promotion push in Division Eight of the Cherwell League had a crushing victory over Shipton’s third’s to re-gain second spot in the league.
With a delayed start Town batted first and scored an impressive one hundred and eighty three for the loss of seven wickets from twenty nine overs. Oscar Bones promoted to opening the batting scored a fine fifty-three, support came from Anant Peshavaria (twenty nine) and Russell Thompson (thirteen}. At the end valuable runs came from Ben Cater (thirty six) and Dom Pritchard (thirty one not out). For Shipton, Bartlett took three wickets for forty runs.
In reply Shipton were skittled for a meagre fifty one runs with only Toby Connolley (thirteen) reaching double figures. Ben Cater completed a fine days’ work taking five wickets for twenty eight runs and there were three wickets for Patrick Barry for eleven runs & one for Dane Tuttlebee, Shipton dismissed in just seventeen point four overs.
