Buckingham fours slipped to second place in the league after losing to Thame Town thirds by seventy-one runs and now Thame top the Cherwell Cricket League Division Eight table.
Thame batting first were restricted by opening bowlers Jake Oborne (three wickets for twenty-eight runs) and Ryan Spragg (four for thirty-three) but recovered thanks to Guy Holmes (thirty-five) and Gareth Bridges who made twenty-five. Later batsmen Tim Hester (forty-eight) and Luke Hayes (twenty-seven) saw Thame to a respectable one hundred & eighty all out. Tom Taylor with two & Luke Tory were the other wicket takers; keeper Adrian Johnson took four catches!
In reply Buckingham lost both openers cheaply but Anant Peshavaria (twenty-two) and Ryan Spragg (twenty-five) improved matters but after both had been dismissed a middle order collapse set in as Town faded to one hundred & nine all out. Skipper Dane Tuttlebee hit a quick fire twenty in a disappointing batting display with only three Buckingham batsmen reaching double figures. For Thame opening bowler Nicolas Humphries took four for thirty-eight and Ian McStay three for twenty-five.
