Buckingham Town thirds extended their lead in Division Six of the Cherwell League with a five wicket win over Horley II’s after nearest rivals Bledlow Village II’s lost their match against Twyford II’s.
Horley batting first lost three early wickets to Joe Bleasdale (three wickets for forty runs) but recovered thanks to Darren Wyatt (forty-three), from one hundred & eighteen for five later batsmen Mark Tubb (thirty-nine) and Louis Yates (forty) saw a respectable final total of two hundred & six. For Town Richard Pengelly cleaned up the tail taking five wickets for twenty-nine runs and Dom Pritchard took two for forty-one.
Buckingham at thirty for two were seen home comfortably thanks to Ben Curley (sixty-seven) and in-form Vish Valambhia (seventy-one) for the loss of five wickets.
