Buckingham Town skipper Jack Parish has revealed that his squad are relishing the club’s first-ever season in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League’s top division.

The Town skipper told Sports Shots:

We are all excited to get the season underway after another long winter. The guys (most of) have been netting well with some large strides being made by 2 or 3 of the younger group.

As a squad we have George Humphries returning from Oz, off the back of a premiership title, so he should be ready to go.

Rusty’s (Russell White) performances last year have meant that he’s been training with Oxfordshire which is only going to make him a better player, all round.

We have also had a first-class debut made recently amongst the group. It’s a phenomenal achievement from Adam King and we hope to see him continue his successful start at Bourton road this summer.

Town start their campaign next weekend when they head to Oxford before a home friendly with Datchet on Saturday 27th April. Home Counties action starts on Saturday 4th May, when the league’s T20 Regional tournament starts at Banbury Cricket Club as Town face Horspath.
