Harry Dalton and Alex Woodfine were on target as Winslow United drew 2-2 at fifth placed Bedford in Paul Alleyne’s 100th game in charge on Saturday.
United’s search for a second successive third place finish in the Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1 now means they need just six points from their remaining five games to reach this feat.
Dalton’s 11th minute header from a Matt Cruse centre gave Winslow the lead.
In the 27th minute, Bedford were level as the home side’s number 11 rounded Sam Ashmead to slot home.
Cruse and Daniel Parsons both went close for United before a brilliant piece of play at the other end took the teams in level at half time. A break saw Ashmead produce an outstanding save to deny the Bedford striker.
Four minutes into the second period and it was Bedford who shot home to take the lead.
United went close again, before getting back on level terms in the 71st minute. Woodfine converting Simon King’s corner.
Dalton fired into the side netting on 83 minutes before Bedford had hit the post within sixty seconds.
