61 FC (Luton) – 0
Mursley United – 3
Mursley United travelled to 61 FC in Luton on Saturday (12th January 2019) and won 3-0 for their first victory in four games.
Adam Bone and Ellis Spence were unavailable so Tom Lloyd-Roberts and Austin Dickson came into the starting line-up.
The visitors had early chances and efforts from Dickson and Tom Brazier were scrambled off the line before the latter bore down on goal, but was denied by the outstretched leg of Tom Kavanagh in the home goal. However, Mursley persisted and it was Lloyd-Roberts speculative effort from twenty yards that caught the wind and drifted into the top corner of the net. The hosts came back into the game more as the half continued, but Mursley held firm at the back.
It was after an hour that Nathan Skelton doubled the lead as he and Brazier exchanged passes and the striker slotted home from inside the penalty area. Dan Willett was on hand to make a couple of good stops to keep the visitors in the game before Dickson added a third with five minutes remaining. In the dying moments, Nathan Hawkins on as a substitute, hit a crisp shot with his first touch which was beaten away by Kavanagh.
