Mursley United travelled to Aston Clinton on Saturday (5th January 2019) and were beaten 3-1.
The hosts went ahead after three minutes, when keeper Dan Willett was unable to hold a free-kick from twenty five yards and Joe Kittle was on hand to finish.
Mursley struggled to retain possession on a heavy pitch and a long ball out of defence eluded both Anthony Lands and skipper Nathan Hawkins and this left Lamar Mason-Williams through on goal and he drove the ball past Willett. Just before the break, Kevin Mealor managed to turn in the penalty area and found the far corner of the Mursley net.
After half-time, Mursley improved and limited Aston Clinton to few efforts. They struggled to create their own chances, but were awarded a penalty with twenty minutes remaining, when player-manager Neil Roberts was adjudged to have handled. Nathan Skelton netted from the spot, but this failed to kick-start a Mursley comeback and the home side held on for the points.
