Thame United have been drawn in the Second qualifying round of the FA Trophy to play at Royston Town.
After the 4-2 win over Bristol Manor Farm at the weekend, Monday lunchtime’s draw saw them paired with Royston Town, currently placed second in the league above; Evo-Stik South, Premier Division Central.
The tie, at the Garden Walk ground, is against a side managed by former Leyton Orient man Steve Castle.
Royston are currently behind Kettering Town in the league above United and reached this stage with a 3-0 away win at Maldon Tiptree.
The assistant manager at The ASM Stadium, Stuart Blaik, reflected on the draw to Sports Shots;
Firstly we would have preferred a home tie!
It’s a tough draw as they are sitting in second place in the Southern Premier League.
We will be going there as the underdogs and not people won’t be expecting us to progress. We love a challenge like that, we will do our homework and go with every intention to give a good account of ourselves and let’s see what happens.
