SSMFL D1: In-form United set to host two games in a big four days

Winslow United will be looking to continue their excellent form when they play the first of two games in four days at Elmfields Gate.

Winslow United – Stand

On Saturday FC Broxbourne Borough are the visitors before Amersham Town are their opponents on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Paul Alleyne’s side have lost just once in ten games in a run stretching back to their previous defeat on 14th August. They are also unbeaten in their last five outings since their FA Vase exit; four wins and a draw.

Success in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy has this week paired them with Buckingham Athletic in another exciting local derby tie at Stratford Fields. The tie to take place on Saturday 5th November.

Ironically the duo are currently on course to face each other in the Semi Finals of the Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1 Cup. Both sides have been given quarter-final home ties in the next round with United face the winners of the Hatfield versus Risborough Rangers game, who play next Wednesday.

United’s last outing saw them defeat current Division 1 leaders Harefield United on Tuesday – See the goals below from United’s GoalCam.

This weekend sees eleventh-placed Winslow looking to play catch-up having played just half of the twelve games of Enfield Borough in fifth position.

United can push themselves up the table with a big six points on offer in the next week in what is an open title chase this term.
