Thame United assistant manager Stuart Blaik has spoken to Sports Shots as they head to play Larkhall Athletic in the Preliminary Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy on Saturday.
It’s been a week of mixed fortunes for the ASM Stadium-based outfit.
It started with a narrow league defeat at Didcot Town last weekend.
Blaik told Sports Shots:
It was a very tight game with little in the way of clear cut chances. The game was play between the edge of both eighteen yard boxes.
We were disappointed to concede the penalty that eventually defeated us but I felt we were good for a point.
But, as Blaik revealed in his Football Friday interview with Sports Shots last week, United were closing in on a new signing, something they announced on their Twitter account on Wednesday.
SIGNING NEWS: United have re-signed prolific goalscorer @LyntonGoss Goss, who started the season at Harrow Borough, scored over 80 goals for United in the last two seasons, and goes straight in to the squad for the trip to @LarkhallAFC on Saturday pic.twitter.com/nMjBR5U2AA

The Thame assistant manager was more than pleased with the addition.
Lynton went to Harrow Borough with our full blessing and we wished him every success.
We are very pleased that he is back in the fold with us and he is a player that we have missed. His raw pace will see us be able to stretch teams and with the goals he scores it will add a new dimension to us.
This Saturday United head to Evo-Stik League South Division One South outfit Larkhall Athletic for a Buildbase FA Trophy encounter.
We are going with confidence and belief that we can get a result and hopefully be in the hat for Monday’s draw.
United leave their ground at 11.15am on Saturday with any supporter wishing to attend the game at Athletic’s beautifully named Plain Ham ground welcome to join the team coach.
Victory for Mark West’s side will be worth £3,000 to the club
