Winslow United and Easington Sports will have to do it all again on Tuesday evening after the two sides shared a 2-2 draw last night.
Elmfields Gate welcomed their Uhl Hellenic League opponents in front of a big crowd of 351 for their first-ever FA Cup fixture in their 127-year history.
It was United who took the lead when Aaron King’s pinpoint header nestled in the top corner, over the man on the line, from Shiblu Miah’s well-delivered centre.
The celebrations were short-lived as Easington levelled within 120 seconds through Henry Rose to take the teams in level at the break.
The second half saw King collected the ball going towards the corner flag. As he came back towards his own goal he played a neat one-two with Daniel Parsons, before darting between the two defenders. Parsons lifted the ball perfectly into King’s path and the striker smashed an unstoppable volley past the visiting goalkeeper.
But again it was level. Rose raced onto a through ball and his cut back was slotted home by Andrew Stidder on 79 minutes to equalise.
Late drama was still to follow as Grant Karwacinski cleared Rose’s header from a Convey corner off the line at the far post to send both teams back to Addison Road to try again on Tuesday evening.
