Grendon Rangers last week announced the appointment of Steve Jackman as their new manager ahead of the 2018/19 season, and this week Steve kindly agreed to speak exclusively to us to outlay his thoughts and plans for the new season, click on the screen below to view:
Sports Shots also this week caught up with Grendon chairman Paul Jackman on the appointment:
I know that all of our committee are delighted that Steven, aka Blocky or ‘Jacko’ to everyone, has agreed to take on our first team in the Spartan South Midlands Division Two. He is a native of Grendon and as such I am sure he will help us achieve our mission which is to be ‘the club of choice in this area’.
He has a long experience of non-league football including playing at step two, and coaching at step four which I believe will be enormously useful to the squad in terms of improving their performances and probably commitment also.
His experience has inevitably generated a large network of contacts in the game which I hope he will use to good effect
Steve also had a special mention for his former club AFC Dunstable this week:
I also wish to thank everyone at AFC Dunstable for allowing me the opportunity to work there for the last four years. I must especially mention the manager Steve Heath and chairman Simon Bullard, great people and a great club
Sports Shots would like to thank Steve and Paul for their time this week
