North Crawley – 211 for 9 off 40 overs
Great Horwood – 37 all out off 13.1 overs
Great Horwood were convincingly beaten on Saturday at league leaders North Crawley, thanks partly to a century from Alex Walker followed by some devastating bowling by Ollie Clarke who took 6 wickets for 17 runs off just 7 overs.
Crawley won the toss & batted first and Walker’s century along with 28 from Matt Goss and 26 from Rajet Nahar set Horwood 212 to win. Oliver Prendergast took 4 wickets for 36 runs off 7 overs, with Adam Armitage and Haydon Morrison both taking a brace each.
However the Great Horwood batting never got going and were blitzed by Crawley in just 79 balls, only four Horwood players scoring out of the eleven, Prendergast making 12 was the best they could muster, and with 7 ducks the hosts won by 174 runs.
Clarke took his 6 wickets, whilst Courtney Gresty took 3 for 20 off 6 overs, with Colin Bonnett bowling 1 ball & taking a wicket with it to end the contest. His side took the 25 points with the visitors picking up 4 bowling points, and with New City winning it meant Horwood slip to the foot of the table.
Fourth place Eaton Bray visit Horwood next weekend, in what looks another stern test.
