Jack Carter has spoken with Sports Shots as Buckingham Athletic head to play at FC Broxbourne Borough in the Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1 on Saturday.
It has been a season of evolution for the young player who has been a team player during his progress this campaign.
I started in the development and worked hard on my fitness before earning a place in the first team. I have been playing left back, right back and now in central midfield so I’ve been used as a bit of a utility player.
With such a wet winter effecting the Stratford Fields club, like all teams they face a testing run-in between now and the end of the season.
It’s been tough with so many games in such a short space of time, leaving little recovery time after playing on heavy pitches.
With the Athletic looking to improve on their highest league position in the last three years and a Buckingham Senior Charity Cup two-legged semi-final with Leighton Town still to fit in, there is still plenty to play for.
Moving towards the end of the season it would be great to get to a final, however we are very aware we have two tough games against Leighton Town. More importantly we need to get as many points as possible to get as high up the table.
