Winslow United maintained their promotion push with a 4-1 victory at Codicote in the Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1 today.
The result has seen a five-point gap open up between United, in fourth, and Wodson Park, directly below them in fifth position.
Manager Paul Alleyne named recent signing Bobby White, the Team GB Handball Captain in the 2012 Olympics, between the sticks.
Winslow started brightly as they won two corners in the opening four minutes but it was the home side who took the lead in the fifth minute from the penalty spot.
United had to wait until the 33rd minute to get back on level terms as Aaron King fired in the equaliser.
White was called into action at the end of the first half as Codicote broke away and he was quick off his line to produce a stunning low save to keep the scores level going into the break.
Skipper Simon King hit the crossbar in the 69th minute as the visitors pressed for the lead and they did not have to wait long before going ahead for the first time in the game. The referee awarded a penalty, which Sean Coles dispatched.
With five minutes of normal time remaining it was Aaron King who made it three with his 23rd goal of the season, his second of the afternoon.
With United heading for maximum points, leading scorer Coles bagged his 35th of the campaign four minutes into injury time.
