SLD1E; Ben Williams previews Ducks fleeting visit to Hampshire

Saturday 10th February 2018

Fleet Town v Aylesbury United

Southern League Division One East

K.O. 3.00pm

Aylesbury United take the trip down to Fleet on Saturday knowing victory will put eight points between them and their hosts, who currently sit just a place below them in the league table. Fleet haven’t tasted victory in their last twelve games in all competitions, and the sides played out a one all draw back in September.

Sports Shots caught up with Ducks manager Ben Williams ahead of the game:

We go into the game with everyone fit at the moment, all except Jeanmal Prosper who will need a late fitness test. We’ve lost our last two through not being ruthless enough in the penalty boxes at each end of the pitch. Every game in this league is tough, and the odd goal generally settles our games, and we need to start scoring first in our matches coming up

Having not been long appointed permanent manager, Ben reflected on the changes so far:

Yes, it’s been really hectic, juggling a young family is always difficult, and add to that an imminent house move it’s all go. My wife has banned phone use between the hours of 5.30-7.30pm which is fair enough. I have set the squad the challenge of finishing fourteenth in the league table, we are looking up and not down!

Sports Shots would like to thank Ben for his time out this week.
