Sports Shots has spoken to Winslow United’s Alex Kedzierski as Rayners Lane visit Elmfields Gate in the Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1 on Saturday.
Last time out, the United midfielder was voted the man of the match in the win over Brimsdown. They left it late for the victory as they scored two goals, including the winner in the dying minutes of injury time, to take the points.
I felt we didn’t start great as a team and we conceded a sloppy goal. But into the second half we took control of the game and dominated. They didn’t know what to do and couldn’t get out of their own half. We had so many chances to kill the game off but we just couldn’t score.
Looking ahead to the home encounter this weekend, Kedzierski is in positive mood.
We need to start better the same as the Enfield game. We step off games to much let the other team score before we start playing. But we’re flying at the moment and in good form.
United have enjoyed a good campaign to date but Kedzierski is still keen for more.
The Season is going great, we’re doing really well as a team. We’ve been disappointed in certain games as we’ve dropped points against teams we should have beat due to our mistakes or not having the right players at times. But I’m very confident we will do well.
The United man wanted to thank those people who turn out to support the team.
The fans are massive to us. We have the most in the league at games and it really helps knowing people are getting behind there local side. It’s good to see the support and we hope it continues. We would like to say thanks to everyone who comes down and shows support.
