Buckingham Athletic boss Mark Carter has praised his defence for the part they played in the Harefield United victory at the weekend.
Carter told Sports Shots:
It was a very hard-fought win against a decent Harefield side.
Matt Cruse made his debut after returning and did really well but yet again it was our display at the back that won us the game with left back Ryan Marsden picking up man of the match from the supporters.
I felt both teams tried to play decent football on a really heavy pitch but it was us that finally scored midway through the second half when a corner was only half cleared for Chris Stapleton to poke home.
Both Cruse and Aquaye had chances to increase the lead but some good last-ditch tackling save the day for Harefield.
We must now carry this on to Tuesday night when we entertain Risbourgh Rangers.
