Winslow United assistant manager Steve Garbutt has spoken to Sports Shots after they recorded an excellent 3-2 win in a tough encounter at Risborough Rangers on Saturday.
United bounced back from their home defeat to neighbours Buckingham Athletic to show character in their victory at Windsors.
Garbutt told Sports Shots:
Saturday was always going to be a tough game. As you may know I played there last season and I have a lot of respect for Risborough.
I personally felt we didn’t deserve to go a goal down, but errors happen, and Brad (Kirkwood) held his hands up.
I always thought we had the beating of them, even when we went to 2-2, and I still felt we could score the winner.
We defended well and having Jams in front protecting us was a big help.
The result puts United back to fourth in the table going into the weekend.
It definitely gives us a boost after losing to Buckingham.
Enfield will be a good test as I feel they play good football and can punish teams with their quality on a 4G pitch.
