CS&TFL,D1: Wreh & Shrieves speak as fourth-placed Robins head to leaders Pinchbeck United

Saturday 25th November 2017

UCL Division One

Pinchbeck United v Buckingham Town

Kick-Off: 3.00pm

The United Counties League Division One on Saturday will see fourth play top, when Buckingham Town visit Pinchbeck United. Although six points separate the two clubs, Town have two games in hand, so Saturday could see them reel their title contenders in closer as the race for promotion hots up.

Sports Shots this week caught up with Chris Wreh and George Shrieves ahead of the game.

Chris Wreh

Wreh said;

Saturday will be a big game for us, our momentum is good, and confidence is high, we are playing some very good football of late.

George Shrieves

Shrieves, son of former Robins legend Terry, also discussed the preparations:

They are all tough games in this division, we need to prepare the same as any other game really as every game we play, and every team we face wants to win. We are playing well of late and the lads are buzzing for the game.

Wreh hasn’t been at Buckingham that long but feels he has settled in well.

I feel at home here, and I’m definitely enjoying my football at the moment, but I do still have a lot more to offer and with the quality of players here I feel I will step up my game even more.

Likewise, Shrieves is also enjoying his time at Manor Fields.

Since I joined Buckingham I’ve settled in really well and am enjoying playing football with young and positive players, it suits me.

Wreh has began his Robins career in a positive manner.

I have got off to a really good start scoring goals since I came here, but the main thing for us is to keep our confidence going and winning games. We do have goals in us across the whole team though which is a bonus. My main aim personally is to get over twenty-five goals this season, and help the club get promotion.

Shrieves agrees they can push on.

If we keep playing as we have been, and working together as a team we can hopefully be right up there in the mix at the end of the season, although there is still a very long way to go.
