SNCL,PD: Copping century helps Boro to victory

Thornborough bounced back from their disappointing start to the season, Matt Copping blasting a superb century in the victory over Byfield.

After winning the toss, home skipper Chris Horsler elected to bat, Matt and fellow opener Michael Baker laying the foundations for a large total with an opening partnership of 67 before Michael was bowled for 36.

Nick Chapman (10) Tom North (28), Stuart Chapman (10) and Cam Davies (11) helped boost the total with Copping going on to score a superb 109 before being run out, Copping dropped twice but making the most of it with 11 fours and six sixes.

Boro finally posted 220-8 off their 45 overs with Swapnil Khedekar not out on five and Chris not out on seven.

The Boro bowlers were always on top in the Byfield reply, Ben North taking 2-35, brother Tom claiming 1-14, Cam Davies capturing 3-25, Ian Chapman taking 3-35 and Dane Tuttlebee chipping in with 1-31, the visitors finally all out for 151.
