Local sides looking for Oving Villages Cup Final spot

Tomorrow is scheduled for both Oving Village Cup semi finals to take place as holders Grendon Rangers host Wingrave and Steeple Claydon host Stewkley.

With the likelihood of bad weather and unfit pitches, the Oving Cup committee has provisionally booked pitches in Oving and Aylesbury in attempt to get the games played. Grendon are also considering playing their tie at Waddesdon Secondary School on the 3G astro turf, if all other pitches cannot be used.

Steeple Claydon manager David Terry said ahead of their tie with Stewkley, “It’s a game we want to win, we want to be in that final on Easter Monday! However, we do have a number of absentees which includes our entire central midfield! If we give the game all we have then we can hold our heads high regardless of the result on Saturday. They will be a strong, well organised side and we’ll have to match them blow for blow. It’s a cup game so anything can happen on the day!”.
