Stony Stratford seamer Dean Bryce has looked forward to the visit of Irthlingborough Town after his side recorded their first win of the campaign last weekend.
Bryce collected three for 29 in a good opening spell at Kettering Town, which aided his side’s victory.
Saturday was a good performance from the lads, we took early wickets and managed to stay on top throughout which led to a comfortable win. We’ve been disappointed with our start to the season and we’d spoken at length about what we needed to do better, so it was good to get the first win on the board.
With thirteen wickets this season, Bryce was please to record maximum points.
I’ve been pleased with my own form so far, I’m taking wickets and performing consistently. Contributing to a win at the weekend was the most satisfying feeling so far though!
Now we’ve got our first win, we can hopefully build some momentum, so I’m looking forward to going again on Saturday and trying to make it two in a row.
The big game on the horizon is the visit from Lashings with their star-studded team of household names.
Everyone’s really excited about the Lashings game and it should be a great way to celebrate the clubs 150th anniversary. For most of us it’s our first experience of a Lashings event, so it will be good to challenge ourselves against a team of ex-pros. It would be great to have as many people as possible there to support us on the 5th July and help make the event a success!
